Picks 12.16 - End

Ok the draft is finally over. I really enjoyed this draft. I feel it is one of my best ever given my draft spot and choices. Lots of picks I lost because I was last but still grabbed solid value and minimized risks.. So heres the end..

12.16 Jason Motte RP - Rounding out my pen. Motte is a solid 8th inning guy to add to my holds. He will also be first in line for saves once Franklin is either traded/hurt.

13.16 Miguel Olivio C - Here is solid value. Posada went 7 rounds earlier with very similar numbers. He will hopefully keep the spot warm for my backup. Either way won't hurt me and add a few HR's.

14.13 Kila Ka 1B - Another low risk high reward player. He is a Carlos Pena clone. He will have a low BA and High HR and High BB. Expected to the the starting 1B for the Royals and its make or break for him given his prime age. Could be in for 28HR's and 80+ BB.

14.16 Chris Young SP - Continuing my theme of low risk high reward. Young hasn't done much in 2 years but noy self proclamed healthy. He comes close to his past numbers he will be a steal here. Worst case I invested little.

15.16 Kenley Jansen RP - Another find for my pen. He will give me great ERA/WHIP/K's. Even if he is 7th inning. He will give me plenty of holds of he is the 8th inning. Will backup Broxton.

16.16 Andy Pettitte SP - Well took the gamble and it obviously didnt pay off.. Not much lost.

17.16 JP Arencibia C - Another high reward guy. Most likely will be my backup catcher but could possibly push playing time if shows he belongs in preseason. might be waived if he doesn't.

18.16 Kosuke Fukudome OF - Staying focused on guys who can help. Kosuke is right now set to be a starter for the Cubs but that could change in spring. Either way this former early round pick has nothing but upside..

19.16 Brian Duensing SP - I think a lot of people overlooked him. Penciled in as the Twins 4th SP and produced last year. Not a lot of K's but should be decent. Last year this is where I got value in my staff. He could be my this years Arroyo..

20.16 Dayan Viciedo 3B - Here is another vying for starting job. Has to win it in spring. Free swinger with lots of power. Most likely will be waived but if he makes starting lineup this late will have trade bait.

21.16 Sergio Santos RP - White Sox have 2 top pen guys in Thronton and Sale. Well both are lefties. Santos is the top RHP and should server as 8th inning setup. Not bad K's also and decent Holds.

22.16 Cory Luebke SP - Another Padre SP from their farm. Any pitcher pitching for them has an inflated value due to Petco. See if he makes rotation out of Spring. If so could give me decent depth.

23.16 Ronny Cedeno SS - Depth only. Nothing special. Probably won't hold onto him..

24.16 Jay Gibbons OF - Well the last pick in the draft was a name from the past. Has the startign LF job to lose. Could be a great pick if he is back to 05-06 numbers.. If not WW..


Thats it. Lots of value in this draft and took lots of guys with high upsides..
