Mets are off and running,

After a long wait to the season it finally started. We started off hot but tailed off as the week continued. Reynolds stated, " We had this week big then our bats slowed. While we took most of the offensive stats the one that troubled us the most was the BA. We had that locked and we let it slip by the last 3 days. That few extra outs would have made the difference between a little win and a big win." The Mets who still dominated look forward to week 2 and facing North Texas. Here is a team that does not belong hanging with us. Sure they have a couple of nice bats but the drop from their studs to the rest of their starting lineup is huge. While the Mets have consistently good 20 players. Injury note. Escobar is sitting this week due to a finger nail issue. They also decided to take Jenkins out for a week and replace it with Sanders. Who is off to a better start. Giambi gets 1 more week and if he doesn't turn it around he will start to ride pine until he puts it together. We are not worried as he is a slow starter in years past. On a side note it is nice to see the Mets once again have a decent staff. Harden and Smoltz are going to be the most important part of this staff. Penny is a very good #3. Escobar stays healthy most of the year we won't ahve to worry about much.
