Rounds 3, 4 and 5

The New Jersey Mets continue to reap the rewards of other owners drinking the rookie kool aid or playing the homer card. Round 3 is a perfect example. What was expected to be a hohum round.. Turned into an exciting and some how bizarre round. I was sitting there waiting for my pick when Brewers owner Justin who has been known to get a bit nervous made a phone call looking to move up. He had the fear of not getting a solid closer. Well since we were without an 11th round pick we were more then happy to listen. We were able to land a replacement round 11 and only fell back 4 spots. Senior VP Reynolds started to get greedy thinking only 2 owners needed a SS before the next pick in round 4. So we took best available and that happened to be Geoff Jenkins. Who we happened to rank as a possible late 1st or early 2nd. In fact we almost took him in round 2. That is one hell of a 4th OF.. The round started great.. We moved back and got another round and then got the player we targeted. Team after team made their selection and then boom.. Columbus wakes up and takes Crosby just before I could. Missed out on our SS who we also ranked as a possible 2nd rounder. So round 4 came about and the Mets still in need of a SS take best available who happened to be Carlos Guillen. "We took best left and tried not to reach. We felt he would have gone soon any way but couldn't risk it." Reynolds stated. Now onto round 5. The teams are now drinking heavy the rookie Kool Aid but the Mets stay true. Yes they did get a young body in the 5th but Chris Ray is the closer and he has shown something in the majors. Will the Mets have a 6th round pick?? Since they have been in discussions with an owner to possibly move back. Stay tuned..
