eMLB 2006 Mock Draft

Here is my contribution to the mock draft..

1. New Jersey Mets – Rich Harden – SP
With Zito gone Mets need an ACE. He will replace Zito without a hicup.
 

2. Nor Cal Sluggers – Scott Podsednik – OF
Need for OF is a must and this is the top rated OF. Look for them to add some well needed speed.
 

3. Pacific Beach Bombers – Melvin Mora – 3B
The trade of Blalock made this a no brainer as the drop off at 3B is HUGE.
 

4. Dallas Redbirds – Julio Lugo - SS
Dallas needs an SS and this is the top rated SS in the draft. Good for a solid 280's BA and 30-40 steals.
 

5. New Jersey Mets – Rickie Weeks - 2B
The Mets are worried about Roberts shoulder so this could be a future 2B for years to come for them.
 

6. Brewers – Jim Thome - 1B
Proven slugger and Storlie loves the power. Without a solid 1B look for them to invest early.
 

7. North Texas Rangers – Chad Tracy – 3B
Local boys all the way for Adrian. If they are close to where they should go.. Plays 1B/3B/OF.
 

8. ES Blacksox – Andy Pettitte – SP
Team in need of another quality arm. RJ out there but I bet he passes due to age and takes Pettitte.
 

9. Carolina Yankees – Randy Johnson
Team has currently 2 SP and with RJ being a team favorite this is a lock if he is there.
 

10. Springfield Slammers – Mariano Rivera - RP
Slammers already loaded up every where takes the best closer in the draft. This is a no brainer pick.
 

11. Knoxville Possums – Noah Lowry – SP
Has a lot of SP but only a few quality ones. Noah is set to give high K's and could be a decent keeper.
 

12. New Jersey Mets – Willy Tavarez - OF
Mets will lock up their speed needs with this pick. Now giving them 4 potential 20+ SB guys.
 

13. Pacific Beach Bombers – Brett Myers – SP
I agree with Berg. Bombers go SP if they take Mora at pick #3. Myers one of the best left at SP.


14. South Texas Heat – Jason Giambi - 1B
The Heat need a 1B and I cans ee them risking a 1st on Giambi who is a huge question mark but he is too tempting.
 

15. Encinitas Beach Bums – Joe Blanton - SP
This team is building for next year and why not add a great control pitcher that is young? 3 Year??
 

16. Olivet Killer Eagles – Cliff Lee - SP
Trading of Livan triggered almost a sure thing 1st round SP. Lee is putting it together and will have high K's.
 

17. North Texas Rangers – Jonny Gomes - OF
This pick has Adrian written all over it. Kid young and talented. Will keep improving.
  

18. Columbus Stuff – Billy Wagner - RPStuff look to take best available and they need a closer. Even though this doesn't fit his MO. He will grab a stud here.
